CEO
Jeff is the CEO and a founder of PEAK Communicators. He’s a seasoned strategist, PR counselor, writer and PR coach, with a quarter century’s worth of experience in PR. With Jeff’s skills as a crisis communications manager, he’s handled workplace crises, mergers and acquisitions, plant closures and layoffs, product recalls and tampering, strikes, embezzlement, employee murder and robberies.

And he’s still a really upbeat guy.

A leader in the PR profession, Jeff has written and developed programs in media interview training, crisis simulations, community relations and public consultation. He has served as a PR coach for senior executives, managers and intermediate PR staff. He likes to work closely with clients, providing insight, confidential PR counsel and an experienced resource they can rely on. He developed and edited the Public Relations website for NY-based About.com and sits on the board of the Communication & Public Relations Foundation as well as the Public Relations Advisory Committee for Kwantlen University.

Jeff’s English and History degree from the University of Calgary got him his first work in the business as an ad copywriter, and then a job in the Alberta government public affairs bureau. He’s worked in Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver and was vice president and general manager of the PR divisions for Vancouver’s two largest ad agencies—Palmer Jarvis DDB and BFS/Chiat Day—as well as Vancouver GM for GPC Communications, an international PR firm. He’s been accredited by the Canadian PR Society (APR) since 1985.

Jeff is an avid canoeist. “Crisis management is like canoeing—if you’re not paddling upstream, you’re watching out for rocks going downstream!”
